Restoring God's Full Sabbath Day

According to Genesis 2:1-3 on the 7th day God rested after finishing His work of Creation and declared it Holy. So man rests on the 7th day and worships God. But I believe that this day of rest was not only meant for man but also for all of Creation. I believe it was meant to be a day of rest from man's exploitation* of its resources. I believe this first law was a law of self preservation providing a means for man to live in balance with his environment. *exploitation-to utilize, consume, or harm resources

In Exodus 23:10-12 and Leviticus 25:1-5 God instructs man to let the land rest from being farmed every 7th year. Furthermore man is instructed to let the animals rest as well as anyone in the household on the 7th day. So this covered a day of rest for man as well as a day of rest for creation from man's exploitation* of its resources (namely the land and animals). *exploitation-to utilize, consume, or harm resources             

Before 1800 the economy was primarily based on farming, raising animals, and manual labor. So in Exod23:10-12 when God instructed Sabbath Day rest for the land and animals along with man. It pretty much covered a day of rest for Creation from man's exploitation of natural resources. But the industrial revolution after 1800 brought about industrial machinery and the factory system. That along with the invention of dynamite in the 1800's changed how man exploits natural resources.

So after the industrial revolution work animals & riding horses were replaced by machines with comparable power(1hp = 745.7watts). For the most part you exploit* natural resources when you operate machinery or equipment. Or you generate energy in the form of heat, light, or explosives. This isn't just about global warming; this is about keeping the first principle for self preservation that God gave us(Gen2:1-3). But global warming is definitely the result of not keeping it. *exploit-to utilize, consume, or harm resources

So how does an individual give creation a day of rest from exploiting its resources. Remember you exploit natural resources when you operate machinery or equipment because you're using them for fuel. Either directly as a fossil fuel or biomass fuel or indirectly as electricity. If the electricity isn't being supplied from a clean renewable energy source then it's exploiting fossil and biomass fuels or nuclear material to generate it. Vehicles use the largest amount of natural resources. A standard car has a max power rating of ~190hp while a small 4cylinder suv is rated at ~280hp max. If we use half the max value for an average value estimate and convert it to electrical units in watts using: 1hp = 745.7watts....Then we get a standard car uses 70.8 kilowatts of power when being operated and a small suv uses 104.4 kilowatts of power when operating. Hvac systems and equipment that uses 220V/240V will usually also consume a lot of power. Equipment like clothes dryers and stove...

Lastly the idea of giving creation one day of rest was for when the earth was healthy and man was in balance with his environment. But the earth is not healthy now and we're out of balance with our environment. So when possible we need to rest from exploiting creation more than one day out of seven to help bring things back into balance.                         An Afterthought: Yes cleaner energy sources and limited use of resources are both good ways to reduce global warming. But they treat the symptoms. The root of the problem is a mindset that doesn't see the Earth as being alive and possessing both self-preservation and free will; which makes it worthy of Sabbath Day rest along with mankind and the animals. Trying to prove the Earth is alive using science and philosophy is not gonna work. This wisdom only comes from having a sense of fear and respect for the Word of God.
